Day 7
Negombo
Early morning go with a Chef of the Hotel to the “Lellama” where the fish caught by thousands of fishing boats are brought ashore and sold by auction to the highest bidder. Buy your fish for lunch to be cooked later at the hotel.
Suggested types are “Karalla” a small flat silver fish for making a delicious fish soup, Shrimps for a Prawn Cocktail, Giant Tiger Prawns or Large Negombo Lagoon Crabs – the best in Asia exported live to Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany and many other countries, of course the hotel chef will demonstrate how to make the soup, Shrimp Cocktail with Avacado. Baked Crab or Sizzling Giant Prawn dishes for lunch.
Enjoy your lunch with the Chef, and sample the deliciousness of what you have cooked.
In the evening you can go to a short distance in the sea in an Outrigger Boat with Sails (Catamaran) and engage in fishing for Silver Herrings or if the Sea is rough during your stay in Negombo you may do a boat ride in the Dutch Canal or the Lagoon.
